ICU Float Registered Nurse – MICU (Level 3)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift (Days/Evenings/Nights) | Every Other Weekend | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Float across ICU specialty units including MICU, SICU, Respiratory Special Care, and Surgical Progressive Care based on staffing needs
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Maintain current knowledge and competency in critical care nursing practice
• Provide high-quality patient care in the intensive care unit with the greatest staffing need at time of assignment
• Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as required by unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State (NY) RN License required — no other state licenses accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU acute care experience
• BLS certification — American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification — American Heart Association only
• Previous travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple ICU specialty settings (MICU, SICU, Respiratory, Progressive Care)
• Prior float or multi-unit ICU experience
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to varying patient populations and unit environments
