Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health)

Overview Pearl Harbor, HI - CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH) is located at the 15th Medical Group Joint Base Pearl Harbor‑Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Responsibilities Deliver evidence‑based biopsychosocial assessment, treatment, and prevention of mental health conditions. Provide individual and group treatment, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem‑focused interventions, cognitive‑behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes. Conduct mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the DSM. Assess and provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions and mental health issues affecting medical conditions to include assessment and disposition of beneficiaries with acute and chronic risk. Provide treatment through targeted and efficient appointments for initial and follow‑up visits. Educate clinic staff on the principles of mental healthcare via trainings and briefings. Performs other duties as assigned. Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. Applicants must be able to fulfill non‑privileged professional credential requirements. Qualifications Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice psychology independently, offered by a U.S. state, district of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. At least one year of specialized experience in conducting psychological evaluations, providing individual or group counseling services, and implementing therapeutic treatment plans. Experience must be demonstrated in the application; education cannot substitute for this experience. Completion of foreign education requirements: foreign degrees must be evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign programs and must be deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited education program.
