Sr Director, Software Engineering - Trust & Safety

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 10+ years of hands-on experience, including 5+ years leading technologists in solving complex technical challenges
• We need strong experience with Java-based backend systems such as Spring Boot and microservices
• We look for experience building or leading large, cross-functional technology teams across application, data, and SRE disciplines
• We require a deep understanding of distributed systems design and cloud-native architectures
• We want experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• We expect a proven track record of delivering high-throughput, low-latency production systems
• We need strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
• We value familiarity with observability tooling, including monitoring, logging, and tracing
• We want demonstrated experience influencing within complex, highly matrixed organizations and delivering value at scale
• We look for experience leading complex projects that support system design, testing, and operational stability
• We require expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Preferred: experience designing and operating event-driven architectures such as Kafka or Pulsar
• Preferred: strong background in data engineering, including ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming data, and data lakes or warehouses
• Preferred: experience applying SRE principles such as SLOs, error budgets, and reliability engineering
• Preferred: expertise in containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Preferred: experience with API design and management, including gRPC, REST, GraphQL, and API gateways
• Preferred: familiarity with security and compliance in regulated environments, especially financial services
• Preferred: strong experience with performance tuning and scalability optimization
