Through a unique collaboration between Universal Health Services and Providence Health Services, Inland Northwest Behavioral Health Hospital became the first free-standing mental health hospital in the city of Spokane, Washington. Position Summary: We're looking for a skilled, mission-driven Cook with preferred pastry background to help elevate the quality of meals served in our Behavioral Health hospital. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with established menus, standardized recipes, therapeutic diet requirements, and food safety standards in a healthcare setting. This position supports efficient kitchen operations by ensuring food is prepared accurately, consistently, and on time to meet quality standards and patient satisfaction expectations. Position details: Per Diem/On Call Weekend coverage required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Culinary training, certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days) 3 or more years of professional cooking experience in Healthcare, School/Institution food service or commercial dining Qualifications Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities Prepare high-quality, visually appealing meals for patients and staff Follow therapeutic diet orders, texture modifications, and BH safety protocols Support menu preparation, food production, and presentation standards Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment Assist with inventory, food prep, and teamwork across the dietary department
