Social Work: Support Supervisor, New Country Day Camp Educational Alliance 197 E Broadway, New York, NY 10002 New Country Day Camp is an open‑tent community that celebrates and sustains joyful outdoor summer experiences where all can thrive. It is an 8‑week outdoor summer camp for kindergarten‑to‑8th‑grade campers, operating Monday‑Friday, 8 am–5 pm, and provides transportation to and from Staten Island campgrounds. We are looking for an experienced Social Work Support Supervisor to coordinate and supervise a disability‑inclusive model that provides extra support to campers with additional social, emotional, behavioral, and mental‑health needs. Hourly Rate : $27.50. Schedule : Part‑time during pre‑camp (April‑June), full‑time during camp (June‑August). Responsibilities Work directly with families, supervisors, and NCDC leadership to create Individualized Camper Plans (ICPs) for campers who require additional support. From April, conduct virtual and/or in‑person intakes with new camp families and their camper(s). Update ICPs for returning campers on a specified caseload. Train support specialists on use and implementation of ICPs. Observe and check in with specialists and individual campers as needed throughout the day. Be available for crisis management for all campers during the season. Apply disability‑inclusion and trauma‑informed care as a lens for all aspects of camper experience. Logistics and Communications Attend pre‑camp meetings with families and/or staff as needed. Communicate with parents via phone and email until 6:30 pm nightly. Compose and send weekly family‑specific camper highlights (Rose Communications). Partner with Division Supervisors, Aquatics Staff, and Program staff regarding camper needs and concerns. Ensure all campers who benefit from additional support have plans on the bus ride to/from camp. Leadership and Staff Supervision Model professional behavior for campers and other staff as a member of the NCDC Head Staff. Attend all days of orientation, camp, and staff meetings during the season. Proactively problem‑solve and motivate colleagues during difficult moments; encourage flexibility and understanding. Train, observe, and evaluate a staff of 3‑6 support specialists assigned to 2‑3 campers each. Establish and promote commitment to NCDC’s mission and vision. Implement NCDC’s restorative approach to supervision and behavior management, including regular check‑ins and evaluations. Partner respectfully with the Division Supervisor on crisis management using a restorative approach. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (some graduate experience or Master’s preferred). Leadership experience in an inclusive educational setting. Background in elementary and/or special education, social work, or a relevant setting. Previous supervisory experience. Ability to begin part‑time work in April, working virtually with families to create and update ICPs, and attend all days of hybrid staff orientation and in‑person camp from early June through August 19th. #J-18808-Ljbffr
