ED RN

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Kohala Hospital provides skilled nursing care to patients in a small ED setting. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The RN must demonstrate strong communication skills and have experience with EPIC electronic health records. This position requires flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the emergency setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and patient management.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care as needed.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Strong proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Excellent clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Effective interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• Experience in rural or small hospital emergency departments.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• Prior experience working with diverse patient populations.

• Must be available to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong EPIC electronic health record experience is mandatory.
• Work environment is a small emergency department requiring flexibility and adaptability.
