Program Supervisor I – Special Populations – Rasmey Unit (025201) Job Summary Performs routine administrative and supervisory program work. The position involves assisting in establishing program goals and objectives; developing program guidelines, policies, and procedures; preparing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals; evaluating program activities; and supervising the work of others. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Essential Functions Assists in planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating activities and services in youthful restrictive housing or other special populations programs; develops and recommends program guidelines, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and monitors compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Participates in developing program goals and objectives; oversees completion and prepares reports on effectiveness of program activities; and conducts special investigations and program analyses to recommend improvements. Prepares and assists in preparing program correspondence, reports, studies, and specialized research projects; and oversees preparation of training and operational manuals, educational materials, and information programs. Consults with staff on program issues and problems to identify and implement solutions; and provides training and technical assistance in the program area. Supervises the work of others. Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Behavioral Science, or a related field (preferred). One year of experience may be substituted for thirty semester hours on a year‑for‑year basis. Experience : One year full‑time, wage‑earning program administration, public administration, counseling, case management, or technical program support experience. Experience in supervising employees and working with youthful inmates is preferred. Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of public administration, program planning and implementation, local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations; familiarity with agency and departmental structure and policies; understanding of intervention programs for youthful inmates (preferred); strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills; proficiency with computers and related equipment; and supervisory skills. The ability to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures is also required.
