Over 10,000 homeless individuals are cared for by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program each year. The employee must be able to continuously assess the building needs regarding clean up or maintenance and report these needs to the supervisor. Must be able to take direction well and be flexible in meeting the changing housekeeping and maintenance needs of the building.Responsibilities: Housekeeping duties and light building maintenance include, but are not limited to:Vacuum cleaning, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floorsTrash removalCleaning lobby area and restroomsCleaning various areas in clinicCleaning common areasWindow washingCleaning and maintaining outside areasSnow removalMust abide by all OSHA regulations and attend trainings on safety as requiredOther tasks as assignedQualifications:High School graduate or equivalent work experienceHousekeeping experience preferredExcellent organizational skillsAbility to clearly communicateMust be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little or no supervisionAbility to take direction wellMust be able to effectively work in a teamAbility to work overtime when necessaryCompensation and Benefits:The compensation increases based on years of experience and ranges from $22.25 -$35.60 per hour.BHCHP full-time employees are eligible for our competitive time off program, health, dental and vision insurance, 403B retirement savings plan, pre-tax MBTA pass program with 40% discount, additional compensation for demonstrated bilingual proficiency and more.
