Director of Tax Compliance & Reporting

Our client, a financial services organization in the New York metro area, is hiring a senior tax professional for its in-house tax function. The Bachrach Group is running the search. What you will do Prepare and review federal, state and local filings and information returns across a multi-entity structure Employment and payroll tax reporting across multiple states – remote worker nexus, deferred compensation, imputed income Employee benefit plan tax filings and the reporting cycle around them Withholding, documentation and reporting for non-resident payees Research technical positions, document them, and build and maintain written policies and procedures Handle federal and state notices and examinations Partner with accounting, payroll, legal and HR on anything carrying a tax consequence What we are looking for Bachelor’s in accounting; CPA required Fifteen or more years in tax, with substantial time at a large public accounting firm Deep compliance experience – someone who still does the work, not only reviews it Depth in one or more of employment tax, benefit plan tax, or information reporting Advanced Excel; comfortable working out of a large ERP Direct hire, hybrid – three days on site.
