Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Requirements

MD or DO degree

Board certification in Hematology and Oncology required

At least 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology practice

Ability to provide inpatient rounding and respond to hematology/oncology consultations

Ability to participate in weekday, nighttime, and weekend call coverage

Active, unrestricted medical license and required credentials to practice in Maryland

Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Physician Responsibilities

Round on hospitalized oncology patients during scheduled weekday hours

Evaluate and manage inpatient hematology/oncology conditions

Respond to inpatient consultations and provide timely clinical recommendations

Provide night, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage according to the posted schedule

Coordinate care with hospital-based clinicians and other members of the patient care team

Document assessments, treatment plans, consultations, and follow-up recommendations accurately
