Mammography Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to provide health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of breast conditions. The ideal candidate will perform medical imaging techniques and varied procedures to demonstrate breast anatomy, ensuring successful completion of the procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor consistent with medical ethics.

Responsibilities

• Perform breast imaging procedures using appropriate imaging techniques.
• Assist in maintaining medical records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to established policies.
• Take responsibility for the assigned area and report any equipment malfunctions.
• Provide practical instruction to students and other health care professionals.
• Participate in the department's quality assessment and improvement plan, including specific quality control duties in the assigned area.
• Manage inventory and care for specific mammography items such as compression devices.
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to universal precautions in patient care.
• Apply excellent patient relations skills in all interactions.
• Pursue appropriate continuing education to stay current in the field.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography and mammography.
• Valid state license to practice Radiologic Technology is required.
• Experience in mammography and a strong understanding of procedures is essential.

Schedule

This is a day shift position with hours that may vary, starting as early as 7 AM and ending as late as 6 PM.
