Registered Nurse - Surgical Step Down UnitThis position requires a schedule from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, including every other weekend, with availability during Thanksgiving and one other winter holiday.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical step down unit. The ideal candidate will have a background in ICU nursing and be comfortable managing a nurse-patient ratio of 4:1, occasionally 3:1. This role involves providing post-operative care to surgical patients and requires proficiency in handling various medical devices and IV infusions.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and manage patient care in a surgical step down unit.Administer treatments and medications as prescribed.Assist with the management of devices including chest tubes, arterial lines, PICC lines, ostomies, trachs, NG tubes, and wound vacs.Oversee IV infusions for medications such as heparin, insulin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and cardizem.Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team and patients' families.Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license.BLS certification.Prior experience in a surgical or ICU setting preferred.Ability to work nights and weekends as required.Why ARMStaffing?At ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
