Job Title: Product Engineer Job Description

The Product Engineer provides direction to all members of the Engineering Group within the assigned division, manages the department’s workload, and establishes standards and procedures that ensure effective support for both internal and external customers. This role combines leadership, mechanical design expertise, and new product development in a hybrid office and floor environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and provide clear direction to all members of the Engineering Group within the assigned division.
• Manage and prioritize the engineering department’s workload to meet project deadlines and organizational objectives.
• Establish, implement, and maintain engineering standards and procedures that support high-quality service to internal and external customers.
• Drive new product development initiatives, from concept through design and implementation, with a focus on mechanical design.
• Apply experience and sound judgment to plan engineering activities and accomplish departmental and company goals.
• Work effectively in an environment that requires a high degree of creativity and latitude in decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that product designs meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders through clear verbal and written communication to share project status, technical information, and recommendations.
• Utilize computer tools, including MS Office applications, to document, analyze, and present engineering data and project information.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices within the division.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in design, engineering, and new product development with a focus on mechanical design.
• Experience with jaw and cone crushers, impactors, and screening equipment.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan work and accomplish goals.
• Ability to achieve company objectives in an environment that requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
• Seven (7) years of relevant engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensing preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to established standards and procedures.

Work Environment

This position operates in an engineering office setting combined with regular floor time in a hybrid role, providing exposure to both design work and hands-on interaction with equipment and production activities. Team members typically use standard office technologies and software, including MS Office applications, and work closely with engineering and operations personnel. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollidaysburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
