Bus Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Driver at Pablo Roybal Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well-being during transit, and maintaining a positive and secure environment. This full-time position requires a commitment to punctuality, safety, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport students to and from school and school-related events in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and proper functioning.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
- Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Monitor student behavior on the bus and enforce safety rules to ensure a respectful and safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation-related issues.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Attend required training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and student attendance.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Previous experience driving a bus or similar vehicle preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in various situations.
- Patience and the ability to work with children of different ages and backgrounds.
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Must pass background checks and drug screening as required by law.
- Flexibility to work early morning and late afternoon hours, as well as occasional weekends for school events.
