US Market Access & Reimbursement Director

Intuitive Surgical seeks a principal-level market access strategist to define US reimbursement pathways for pre-launch medical device platforms. The role requires deep expertise in healthcare coding, Medicare payment methodologies, and payer strategy, with responsibility for guiding clinical and regulatory decisions based on reimbursement implications.

Responsibilities

• Define and own reimbursement strategy for growth platforms, including pathway selection and senior-level advisory
• Independently analyze coding applicability and defend rationale to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead development of innovative Medicare payment pathway applications (NTAP, TPT, NT-APC)
• Conduct pre-launch payer landscape assessments and design early engagement activities
• Integrate with Clinical and Regulatory Affairs on study design to support future reimbursement applications

Requirements

• Certified-level expertise in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare payment models (OPPS, MPFS, IPPS) and innovative pathways (NTAP, TPT, NT-APC)
• Health economics and evidence generation experience
• Experience with early payer engagement and coverage strategy development
• Strong working knowledge of provider economics across hospital, ASC, and physician settings
• Prior international reimbursement or health technology assessment experience strongly preferred
