Overview
The Welder position is a key part of the Production team responsible for an assortment of welding tasks to support assembly and production of hollow metal door products. This position is filled by entry to midlevel welders with experience in working on thin sheet metal steel applications. This position requires you to have the skill or the ability to learn to perform custom fabrication work on product, operate hand and power tools including grinders, shop saws, and punch equipment. This is a mechanical position under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.
Skills and Experience
• Utilize MiG welder to perform an assortment of welding tasks on thin steel sheet metal material from 12-18 gauge. • Handle materials such as metal, poly, glue, etc. • Working knowledge of all related tools and machinery including but not limited to: drills, sanders, jigsaws, etc. • Must be able to lift to 40 pounds repetitively. • Must be able to push and/or pull carts up to 50 pounds. • Must use and be able to work with required PPE. • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. • The noise level of the warehouse is moderate to loud. • Based on proficiency could work under heavy to limited supervision. • Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above. • Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
