7421 Temporary Staff: Program Assistant (Program Support Specialist) Department: SSS - Stud Supp Svcs Application Closing Date: 7/23/2026 Pay: $20 / hour Hours: 9 am – 3 pm Campus: Thomas E. Barton Campus Responsibilities Assist with Program Initiatives and collaborate with TRIO staff to execute program initiatives and support retention strategies. Coordinate new participant orientations, ensuring students are welcomed and integrated into the TRIO SSS program. Manage tutoring and academic support scheduling, coordinating tutoring, academic coaching, advising, and resources to connect students with needed resources. Support workshops, events, and cultural activities, organizing leadership events, cultural enrichment activities, and campus engagement to strengthen participant involvement. Manage Program Social Media and Communications, monitoring platforms, sharing program updates, highlighting student achievements, and promoting events to boost visibility and engagement. Strengthen student and campus communication, serving as a bridge between students, TRIO staff, and campus partners to ensure effective communication and timely delivery of information and resources. Streamline program processes, assisting in improving program workflows, participant tracking systems, and event coordination to enhance team efficiency and program outcomes. Foster a supportive environment, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and student-focused environment where participants feel valued, supported, and empowered. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred. At least one year of relevant experience in administrative or program support, student services, academic advising, or a related field providing support.
