Senior Data EngineerLocation: Chicago, IL 60604Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the Chicago officeContract Duration: 6 MonthsExperience: 8–10+ YearsWe are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in data modeling, cloud data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience designing scalable cloud-based data solutions and optimizing data platforms.Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models.Design and architect data solutions for cloud platforms.Assist in designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows.Optimize database performance, indexing, storage, and overall costs.Establish and maintain data standards, metadata, governance, and security rules.Work with data engineering and development teams to ensure scalable and reliable data solutions.Provide technical guidance on data architecture, modeling, and warehouse design.8–10+ years of experience in Data Architecture/Data Engineering.Strong experience with Data Modeling and data architecture.Experience with one or more cloud platforms: AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery.Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, cloud-native relational databases.Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin/ERwin, Hackolade, or DbSchema.Strong knowledge of data warehousing methodologies: Kimball, Data Vault 2.0, Inmon.Advanced SQL skills.Strong scripting experience with Python.Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security.Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data architectures.Strong database performance tuning and optimization experience.Experience working with ETL/ELT and modern data engineering environments.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively with data engineers, developers, architects, and business stakeholders.
