Senior Design Engineer

Summary:

Design and develop aerospace and defense products such as connectors, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical components. Use SolidWorks to create designs, work with manufacturing to build and test products, and help bring new products into production. Lead projects and support junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design aerospace and defense components and assemblies.
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop products from concept through testing and production.
• Work with customers and internal teams to solve design issues.
• Improve product performance, quality, and manufacturability.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Lead engineering projects and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Strong SolidWorks and 3D CAD skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles.
• Experience designing machined, molded, stamped, or electro-mechanical parts.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with connectors, cable assemblies, or interconnect products.
• Knowledge of aerospace or military standards.
• Experience supporting manufacturing and quality teams.
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
