Division Chief, Gastroenterology, Premier Health IM and Subspecialties Institute Status: Employed Premier Health is seeking an accomplished leader to serve as a Division Chief. This leadership position requires a dynamic individual with a comprehensive understanding of the organizational mission for developing and overseeing innovative health care delivery models; sustaining excellence in clinical care; promoting and supporting educational endeavors; and collaborating with the Institute Chair, Division Chiefs, and Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine department chair to organize research initiatives and promote scholarly activity. Key Responsibilities Provide visionary and innovative leadership to the Division and Institute, advancing the mission of Wright State University and Premier Health. Promote and maintain standards of excellence in compliance with national standards, promoting strong departmental and institute performance. Stabilize and grow the physician/advanced practice provider workforce within the Division and Institute. Provide the vision and leadership to foster superior clinical and educational programs within medicine as well as related disciplines. Engage in communications across departments and institutes within the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Premier Health. Promote community health initiatives within the department and institute for the patient population served by the organization. Partner with academic program directors to develop and implement structured teaching rotations that support educational objectives for medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners. Leader will be the accountable party for the academic priorities and engagement within the Division. Recruit, develop, and provide oversight for section chiefs. Foster a culture of teaching, engagement, accountability and collaboration among physicians, advanced practice providers and staff. Oversee and support hospital call schedules to ensure seamless clinical coverage throughout the system. Serve as a key partner in budgetary planning and fiscal management to promote financial sustainability within the Division. Collaborate with respective dyad partner to support operational management that optimizes practice efficiency and effectiveness. Improve physician and provider engagement as measured by an annual survey tool. Build relationships with referring physicians to support continuity of care. Job Requirements Education: M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in area of specialty. Experience: 3-5 years or more of leadership experience. Licensure: Active medical license. Active faculty or meets criteria to become faculty of BSOM. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the recruitment, retention, and oversight of clinicians, educators, and researchers. Outstanding reputation in clinical medicine. Strong organizational, business, and financial acumen with the ability to bring scientific leadership and organizational innovation to the department. Skills Strong leadership, communication, financial acumen, strategic agility and priority setting skills. Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including students, residents, faculty, and administration. Demonstrated commitment to and success in mentorship and development. Ability to build strong and effective teams. Commitment to resident education and well-being. Effective in change management leadership.
