Established in 2001, we serve a diverse community of over 960 students from Alamance, Caswell, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Orange, and Wake counties. General Responsibilities: In the absence of the regular classroom teacher, the substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment. Essential Tasks: Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction. Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students. Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback where applicable. Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners. Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including during lunch, recess, and transitions. Report any incidents or issues to school administration promptly. Qualifications: Relevant experience, Effective Substitute Teacher Training Certification Previous experience in a teaching or educational Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and manage classroom behavior effectively. Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom settings and grade levels. Physical Requirements: Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
