Job Title: Quality Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer with a passion for excellence in electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and possess 3-5 years of quality control experience related to electronic assemblies, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year in the same field. This role involves developing and operating quality control systems, using metrology and statistical methods to improve practices, and planning long-term improvements to enhance quality structures.

• Develop and execute short- and long-term quality strategies to ensure high standards across electronic assembly products.
• Implement quality systems, manage corrective actions, and lead audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across internal operations and the supplier base.
• Create and establish short-term quality plans and support the execution of long-term quality plans.
• Introduce new product release systems to ensure quality aligns with company philosophy.
• Establish and monitor quality metrics and collection systems, providing monthly reports.
• Coordinate with the parent company on new product development and technical/quality issues.
• Manage internal and external corrective actions.
• Create, implement, and upgrade quality processes and procedures.
• Schedule and lead ISO and customer audits, training internal auditors, and resolving open issues with auditing agencies and customers.
• Support supplier audit teams, evaluate and authorize new suppliers, and conduct regular supplier quality meetings.
• Support customer audits and prepare necessary information.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continual improvement, including cost reduction and process improvements.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master's Degree with relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of quality control experience in electronic assemblies or related field.
• Ability to develop and operate quality control systems and training programs.
• Proficiency in using metrology and statistical methods.
• Familiarity with quality cost concepts and auditing quality systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, training, and follow-up skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with CAPA Process, PPAP, Internal Audit, External Audit, and ISO 9001.
• Knowledge of supplier quality management and root cause analysis.

The position is based in an electro-mechanical assembly environment, working closely with one other Quality Engineer and 3-5 Manufacturing/Industrial Engineers. The role requires hands-on involvement on the manufacturing floor, troubleshooting quality issues approximately 25-30% of the time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deerfield, IL.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Deerfield,IL.
