Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager is accountable for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the Selma, North Carolina warehouse and associated distribution activities. The position leads the receipt, storage and movement of raw materials and packaging; maintains accurate control of finished-goods inventory; ensures production is supplied on time; and delivers accurate, on-time customer shipments. The Warehouse Manager leads the warehouse team, controls labor and operating costs, maintains WMS/ERP transaction accuracy, and works closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Procurement, Customer Service and HSE. The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of employee safety, food safety, product traceability, inventory integrity and customer service across the operation. Warehouse Operations Oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse activity Manage inventory accuracy across raw materials, packaging and finished goods, including cycle counts and physical inventories Coordinate closely with Production, Planning and Procurement so materials are available without over- or under-stocking Manage relationships with carriers, freight brokers and any third-party logistics providers Own warehouse layout, slotting and space utilization for efficient flow Set clear daily priorities and ensure smooth handover between shifts Monitor capacity and demand, escalating material, labor, equipment or storage risks early People Management Lead, schedule and manage warehouse supervisors, forklift operators and associates Coach and develop supervisors, and identify succession/development needs Manage attendance, overtime, temporary labor and training coverage Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and address performance/attendance/conduct issues in partnership with HR Recruit, onboard and train new warehouse team members Build a strong shift-coverage plan to meet production and shipping demands Safety, Quality & Compliance Lead implementation of OSHA requirements and company safety procedures Uphold GMP and food safety standards, including pest control, sanitation and traceability Maintain effective safety controls: pedestrian/PIT segregation, dock and yard safety, racking inspections, near-miss and incident reporting, lockout/tagout, emergency procedures Ensure powered industrial truck operators are properly trained and authorized Implement FDA-required controls including FSMA Sanitary Transportation requirements Maintain audit-ready documentation and lead/support food-safety and regulatory audits Maintain lot-code control and end-to-end traceability Ensure allergen segregation and control of non-conforming, damaged and quarantined stock Operate FIFO/FEFO inventory controls and monitor aged/slow-moving inventory Support mock recalls and traceability exercises within required response times Manage warehouse operations through the company's WMS/ERP systems Report on key KPIs — inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, fill rate, labor productivity, safety incidents Manage the warehouse operating budget Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce waste Investigate and resolve inventory variances with root-cause corrective actions Customer Service & Shipping Ensure orders are picked, checked, staged and shipped accurately Maintain compliance with customer routing guides, labeling and documentation requirements Investigate shortages, damages and late shipments Coordinate contingency plans for carrier failure, equipment breakdown or urgent orders #J-18808-Ljbffr Veetee Group
