About the Position

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: CNMT or ARRT(N) Required Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program - Education verification required Description: We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a full-time position. The technologist will perform Nuclear Medicine procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures and ensuring patients meet requirements. Providing instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety is essential. Applying principles of Nuclear Medicine safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others is a critical aspect of this role. The technologist will operate nuclear medicine equipment and other associated equipment to achieve desired results. Positioning the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability, safety, and comfort is necessary. Immobilization of patients as required for appropriate examinations is part of the job. Selecting appropriate parameters with consideration given to established protocols and factors influencing data acquisition parameters is important. Performing venipuncture, starting and maintaining venous access, and preparing and administering radioactive isotopes, ensuring the correct isotope and dose is used, are required duties. Assisting with medical record/image sharing as necessary and evaluating images and data for technical quality are part of the responsibilities. Reporting and documenting Nuclear Medicine safety incidents/adverse events per protocol is expected. Manipulation and processing of digital data for display, ensuring proper identification is evident, is a key function. Utilizing radiology information systems, completing all required records and reports, archiving, and submitting images for physician review and interpretation are essential tasks. The technologist will document all information pertinent to nuclear medicine procedures in the electronic medical record, including medication reconciliation. Ensuring patients receive discharge information regarding their exam is required. Ordering radiopharmaceuticals through vendor-specific protocol and assisting with PET services as needed are additional responsibilities.
