Lift performance: Increase operational effectiveness, roll out improvement plans, and safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of your team. Standardize excellence: Set technical best practices, policies, and procedures; advance continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles. Execute with precision:Delegate shift work and run periodic checks for efficiency.Own the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule to maximize planned downtime and reduce unplanned events.Optimize equipment performance and product quality; ensure routine calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Drive spend accountability with a clear materials strategy; maintain accurate systems and equipment data.Introduce new machinery seamlessly to avoid downtime; evaluate assets for replacement/upgrade.Manage safe, lawful disposal of obsolete machinery; conduct root cause analysis and resolve problems.Identify business improvement opportunities and deploy the right technical skills and external resources to deliver projects.Complete risk assessments for departmental processes and tasks.Oversee subcontractors’ compliance with OSHA and company standards; ensure a safe environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.Grow people and manage results:Coach, counsel, and develop a high-performing team with clear goals and feedback.Model high standards; ensure proper staffing levels and motivate for success.Verify task completion and recordkeeping quality in relevant systems.Review, edit, and audit the timekeeping system to ensure accurate compensation.Own the numbers:Operate within the maintenance budget; solicit competitive bids and select the right vendors.Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget from start to finish.Partner across the plant:Collaborate with the Management team to share ideas and implement continuous improvement.Improve processes and procedures to optimize results, elevate quality, and meet customer requirements.Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and service providers; recommend cost-optimized solutions without sacrificing quality or service.Must-havesHigh school diploma or GED.5+ years of related maintenance experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Professional presence with the ability to work effectively across all levels.High interpersonal skill to navigate sensitive and confidential situations.Multi-task orientation with strong prioritization.Certificates/Licenses: No certifications needed.Physical demandsFine motor control with hands; reach with hands/arms; normal speaking and hearing.Frequent sitting, standing, and walking; sustained computer work including keyboard use and visual focus; regular phone communication.Ability to handle moderate day-to-day stress; occasional climbing, balancing, walking, bending, kneeling, or crouching.Lift/move regularly up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.Work environmentRegular exposure to wet/humid (non-weather) conditions and moving mechanical parts.Frequent exposure to fumes/airborne particles, variable temperatures, and extreme heat (non-weather).Occasional exposure to high places, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), and risk of electrical shock.Loud noise environment.BenefitsESOP Shares401(k) matchDental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceMajor holidaysVacation timeSick TimeWho we areSuperior Farms is an employee-owned company and the leader in the American lamb industry.
