Registered Nurse

Required Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Current New York State RN license.

BLS required.

ACLS preferred.

Experienced RNs should demonstrate strong nursing knowledge and the ability to provide quality patient care.

Preceptorship, charge, and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs.

Clinical & Professional Skills

The experienced RN must possess:

Thorough knowledge of nursing principles.

Ability to assess and respond to patients' clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs.

Ability to recognize safety issues affecting self and others.

Ability to assess and implement appropriate lifts to safely move patients.

Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.

Strong creative problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.

Ability to assume charge nurse responsibilities when required.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of typical clinical equipment and instrumentation used to maintain a safe and/or aseptic environment in an OR/ASU setting.

Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias.

On-Call Requirement

On-call is required.

Response time: 30 minutes.

Weekend and holiday coverage is required.
