Network Engineer – SeniorEverforth ECS is seeking a Network Engineer – Senior to work in a hybrid remote/onsite capacity, with minimum of 3 business days onsite at our Fairfax, VA corporate office and/or our Ashburn, VA customer site.Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.Job ResponsibilitiesPlanning: Conducts short and long-term planning to meet network requirementsNetwork System Design and Implementation: Designs and implements network systemsStrong working familiarity with F5 Networks, Juniper JUNOS and/or Cisco IOS with hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, load balancers, and firewallsNetwork Connectivity: Provides support for network connectivity or related network issues for the user communityNetwork Installation: Plans and monitors the installation of network systemsNetwork Monitoring: Analyzes network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors. Recommends network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performanceIssue Resolution: Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves network problems. Researches, analyzes and recommends the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performanceCapacity Planning: Analyzes facilities bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies. Develops capacity planning modelsNetwork Performance Assessment: Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business. Provides network planning recommendations to managementVendor Management: Evaluates services provided by vendors and recommends changesKnowledge of Enterprise system monitoring and management tools such as Splunk, Solarwinds, Wireshark, Websense, MRTG and NMAPKnowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, VPN, and NACRequires excellent verbal and written communication skillsGreat people and communication skills are a mustPerforms related duties and fulfills responsibilities as requiredAbility to work 3 days onsite at Everforth ECS and/or customer site15% CONUS travel or less expected for this positionSalary Range: $140,00-180,000General Description of BenefitsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldUS Citizen; Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination8+ years minimum network engineering experience4+ years experience with technical work in a DHS/CBP environment4+ years experience in an enterprise network environment with both administration and problem resolution of F5, Juniper and/or Cisco solutions requiredKnowledge of ITIL processes and experience adhering to them in a production environmentKnowledge of DHS standards and compliance (i.e. STIGs, Retina report output)Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Juniper Network Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS), F5 Certified Administrator -Security+ certification per DoD 8570 policy compliance
