Details 30-bed Neuro Surgical ICU (NSICU) in a teaching hospital setting Night shift, 3x12-hour rotation from 19:00 to 7:30 Every other weekend (EOW) required Cerner charting system preferred but not required Mandatory floating required for all travelers, including coverage as a Patient Observer/Sitter ICU staff may float to PCU or Medical-Surgical (MS) units Requirements Mo or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required with a strong Neuro background Active certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care preferred Skills in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and IV therapy required Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation required Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and manage continuous IV sedation required Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required Teaching hospital experience preferred Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Additional Information Provide direct patient care to critically ill neuro and neurosurgical patients in a high-acuity ICU environment Holiday coverage required for 50% of designated holidays during the contract Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 10 days Facility is open 24/7/365 and involves routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses Local candidates residing within 75 miles may be considered at a reduced rate Re-orientation is not required for returning travelers within 18 months Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months); a 6-month break is required before returning to the facility American Traveler Job ID P-739114.
