Your Responsibilities Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process. Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services. Assist with performance improvement studies and assist with implementation of PI initiatives. Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures. Schedules and performs routine safety drills as required by CMS standards for unit staff and other appropriate departments that could potentially care for patients affiliated in the Family Birthing Center Participate in state and national initiatives related to maternity care, bringing evidence-based ongoing education to the department and staff. What we're looking for Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred). Additional requirements include: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Two years of acute care experience OB experience Leadership experience (preferred) AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, STABLE (within 6 months) NRP Course Instructor (within 1 year of hire or transfer) AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course Instructor (within 1 year of hire or transfer) Annual influenza vaccination or declination required More about UP Health System UP Health System - Portage is a 36-bed acute care hospital that has been offering exceptional care to the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan for over 128 years.
