Compensation: $30/HR-$40/HR

Overview

The Laboratory Technician reports to the Analytical Lab Manager and supports a quality control laboratory for manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for routine testing of monomer mixtures and incoming raw materials, material release, and ensuring compliance with quality systems. The lab also supports R&D product development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety, environmental, and ethical standards at all times
• Perform sample preparation and analysis using techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, DSC, UV-Vis, TMA, TGA, XRF, and goniometry
• Accurately record, analyze, and communicate results; prepare reports for special projects
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including calibration per standard procedures
• Support scientists in developing new test methods and author SOPs for new equipment and processes
• Maintain compliance documentation, including logbooks, calibration records, inventory logs, and quality records in accordance with ISO standards
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed
• Order laboratory supplies and maintain inventory
• Operate specialized equipment such as laser scanners
• Communicate effectively via Microsoft Outlook, Teams, phone, and voicemail
• Maintain a working phone with voicemail capability

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field
• Demonstrated commitment to safe laboratory practices
• Strong wet chemistry skills
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, XRF, and DSC
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data analysis)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize data and write reports
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Experience with MatLab or similar data analysis tools
• Experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment
• Experience writing laboratory test methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot or similar platforms
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a dynamic work environment

Additional Requirements

• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
