About this role Responsible for providing administrative and operational support to front of house and box office operations. Oversees event ticket sales and ensures the safe and orderly assembly of all people attending events. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and possibly during holidays. What a day of a Theatre Specialist looks like: Sells and tracks tickets to events. Assists with box office operations and ticketing software maintenance. Receives payments, balances, and closes cash drawers or computers. Assists with daily deposits and account reconciliations. Coordinates front of house operations during events, including the scheduling of volunteers. Canvases customers to determine service performance and delivery satisfaction. Conducts training programs for volunteer workers, including but not limited to guest relations, safety, and evacuation procedures. Performs administrative duties that require a broad and comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s policies and operations. Provides information to the public, students, and staff regarding programs and services of a department, campus, or College. Leads the work of indirect reports. Uses various software and systems to create documents, spreadsheets and reports, maintain records and files, and process payroll, budget, and purchase requests Performs other job-related duties as assigned. We’d love to hear from you if you have the following: Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED One year of related experience Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Professional or similar application Skilled in: Managing and resolving conflict in a positive manner Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management Ability to: Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements: Regular physical attendance required Preferred, but not a must: Education and Experience: Associate’s degree Experience in box office operations including the utilization of ticketing software Work Environment and Physical Demand: Reach and grasp objects Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl Stand for extended periods of time Use of video display terminal Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills Communicate information orally and in writing Receive and understand information through oral and written communication Proofread and check documents for accuracy Work a fluctuating work schedule This job description is intended to be generic in nature and describe the essential functions of the job.
