Controller - Chicago Loop - Hybrid (2 days in office)

I'm currently partnered with the CFO at a global, multi-million dollar consumer goods company looking to grow their team due to continuous organic and acquisitive growth. They have been around for 50+ years and are reinventing their brand with major investments in their space. Their goal is continue the growth of the business over the course of the next 5 years, and are looking to add a strong Controller to their team due to this. Description Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory standards Lead the close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger Participate in annual physical inventory count & applicable reconciliations Maintain and improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization Implement best practices in financial reporting and controls Profile Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or MBA preferred 8+ years of experience in Accounting Manufacturing and/or consumer goods industry experience preferred Inventory management/reconciliation experience required Strong knowledge of US GAAP Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Exceptional attention to detail Job Offer Highly competitive compensation package Privately held, highly acquisitive company Fast growing organization Ample room to progress your career Highly visible role, partnering with senior leadership Awesome team culture Remote working opportunity (3 days work from home) MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
