A manufacturing company is seeking a Buyer to join the team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented procurement professional with experience sourcing materials, equipment, and services in a manufacturing environment. The Buyer is responsible for coordinating procurement activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to support production operations. Salary: $21/hr Location: Houston, TX 77008 Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire Responsibilities Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for the organization. Review requisitions and coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Select products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Estimate values according to knowledge of market price. Determine the method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. Prepare purchase orders or bid requests. Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action. Expedite the delivery of goods to users. Requirements Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with procurement processes, vendor management, and purchase order administration Strong negotiation and communication skills Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate procurement records Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:30pm #J-18808-Ljbffr Murray Resources
