RN - L&D Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience License: RN License in Texas or compact Certifications: BLS required Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Current NRP certification required Current ACLS certification required Must-Have: 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience Description:The competent nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently.Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation.Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to plan for long-range goals.Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.Uses the appropriate protocol to administer medications and treatments.Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment.Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.Identifies issues and resources.All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member.Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected.Perinatal RN residency or recent practice in a perinatal setting is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
