We are a full-service small animal hospital with an emphasis on preventative and wellness care. We also provide urgent care services to our community as well as an online pharmacy, wellness plans, and more. Each day we strive to deliver outstanding patient care by providing the highest standard of veterinary medicine, employing dedicated staff, and offering exceptional client service!About the Hospital:Dr. Shirley Bunting first opened our doors in 1994 with the "Family Pet Practice" approach, and we have kept it that way since. Our doctors do not practice medicine in their "own lanes", but instead value teamwork and often collaborate and share knowledge with each other throughout the day.Freestanding building built in 2005, with a large open treatment room, surgery suite, six exam rooms, separate dog and cat wards.Full in-house laboratory using IDEXX Catalyst One, Catalyst DX, Procyte (including differentials), IDEXX Sedivue, various ELISA tests, and fecals are sent out. We have daily pickup from our external lab and next-day test results on all common tests.Radiology / UltrasoundTherapy laser, which is also included in all wellness plan spays and neuters to assist with post op pain control.Full in-house pharmacy along with an online pharmacy.IM3 Dental machine with dental radiographs performed on every dentistry.Survivet full monitoring system along with Doppler.About Chesterfield, VA:Chesterfield County is in Central Virginia with a population of 359,798. You should be passionate about providing quality medicine, client education, and exceptional service to our loyal clientele.Advancing Medical CareOversee surgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate estimates, and client communication and education.Answer client questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical proceduresProvide oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventory.Minimize waste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventories.Leading Staff and PracticeParticipate in the recruiting and interviewing process for Doctors and, when appropriate, general staff membersBe passionate about Mentoring other Associates.Monitor Doctor performance and productionEnsure all medical staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new graduatesSupport the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensureIn Partnership with Hospital Leadership TeamDrive revenue and contribute to hospital growth, including managing hospital expensesAssist in the preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget, and capital budgetMonitor key financial reportsDrive patient visits and encourage community involvementEmbrace change and support interests within the hospitalMonitor client service, marketing, and growth initiatives
