Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

The General Laborer plays a key role in the steel tubing manufacturing process by inspecting, sorting, stacking, and packaging finished products. This position ensures that all tubing meets established quality specifications and customer requirements while supporting a safe, efficient, and organized production environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect steel tubing produced on the manufacturing line to ensure it meets quality specifications and customer requirements.
• Sort tubing according to size, type, and quality standards, following established production guidelines.
• Package steel tubing using appropriate materials and methods to protect products during handling and transport.
• Perform general production and labor tasks to support continuous manufacturing operations.
• Use measuring devices to verify dimensions and tolerances of tubing and document results as required.
• Conduct basic quality inspections and report any defects, inconsistencies, or nonconforming products to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to perform general labor and production tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to read and use measuring devices accurately to verify product dimensions.
• Basic quality inspection skills with attention to detail and adherence to standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on steel tubing production. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling and moving materials, and working around machinery and equipment used in production and packaging. Team members follow established safety procedures and use measuring devices and basic inspection tools as part of their daily tasks.

This is a Contract position based out of Fairbury, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
