Sales Associate

Position Summary As a Sales Associate at The Chef’s Warehouse, you represent our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building strong, lasting relationships. Your primary responsibility is to sell fine products to restaurants, caterers, hotels, and retail establishments. Key Responsibilities Generate sales through developing new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing accounts. Compile lists of prospective customers from networking, publications, trade shows, websites, and other sources. Travel throughout the assigned territory to visit existing and prospective customers and secure orders. Present products using samples or catalogs that highlight key features and benefits tailored to customer needs. Quote prices and credit terms; prepare contracts for orders. Provide customers with estimated delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules, and collect payments promptly. Maintain detailed records of business transactions, update expense reports, keep internal systems current with customer and sales data, and manage account receivables. Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date. Track inventory levels to align product availability with customer demand. Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts that are built on trust and long‑term collaboration. How To Thrive In This Role 1‑2 years of experience in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales, and/or working as a Chef is highly desired. High energy, enthusiasm, teamwork, and motivation to take responsibility and ensure success despite obstacles. Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Self‑starter who asks questions and learns new skills quickly. College degree desired but not required. Leadership ability to foster a positive, innovative atmosphere that motivates others. Data‑driven approach comfortable with gathering and monitoring facts and figures to track progress. Sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Minimum Qualifications Live within a commutable distance to the assigned geographic sales area. Have reliable transportation. Have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
