Summary 

The Operations Director is a high-impact leader responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening cross-functional alignment, and supporting radiologists, physicians, technologists, customers, and internal teams in the delivery of exceptional patient care.

This role provides direct oversight to the Operations teams while serving as a key support to the Operations Vice President across end-to-end operational services, including physician training, peer review, quality assurance, and scheduling. In close partnership with Operations leadership, the Operations Director helps shape strategic priorities while remaining deeply connected to the day-to-day realities of the operation. 

Equal parts strategic thinker and hands-on problem-solver, this leader is expected to dig into the details, identify meaningful workflow improvements, remove barriers, and translate operational insight into practical solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and experience. This role also requires strong cross-functional collaboration to support informed decision-making, strengthen execution, and ensure operational priorities remain aligned with the organization’s core values.

Job Functions

• Lead and support end-to-end operational functions with a focus on consistency, accountability, and service excellence
• Monitor, evaluate, and strengthen operational processes to support regulatory compliance, quality standards, and reliable execution
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of Radiology operations, including radiologist, technologist, and modality-specific workflows
• Protect application security, patient information, and operational confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA requirements
• Analyze KPI reporting, identify performance trends, and translate insights into actionable operational improvements
• Resolve customer issues through thoughtful collaboration, obstacle removal, and a consistent focus on elevating the customer experience
• Partner with the Operations Vice President on long-term strategic planning, aligning priorities with company goals, emerging trends, and forward-looking process improvement
• Build trusted, professional relationships with clients through credibility, responsiveness, and operational follow-through
• Work alongside the team to uncover workflow improvements, remove barriers, and optimize operations in support of radiologists, customers, and patient care
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational performance and adapt strategies to meet changing industry demands and business needs
• Lead through time-sensitive issues with sound judgment, composure, and effective decision-making in high-pressure situations
• Develop employee action plans, monitor performance trends, and cultivate a positive, high-accountability work environment
• Provide leadership and oversight to Operations Manager(s) and their teams to ensure quality, productivity, and alignment with departmental goals
• Strengthen employee engagement and performance through positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and meaningful leadership support
• Partner with onboarding and leadership teams to review resumes, participate in interviews, and support high standards for team selection
• Oversee staff management activities, including professional development, engagement, advancement opportunities, and employment transitions
• Collaborate with leadership to design, implement, and refine processes, procedures, and systems that support scalable operations
• Communicate process updates, procedural changes, and operational issues to the Operations department with clarity and timeliness
• Engage in weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc senior management meetings to align priorities, initiatives, and key operational objectives
• Apply strong time management and organizational discipline to effectively lead multiple priorities, projects, and operational demands

Qualifications Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
• 5 years of leadership experience, preferably within healthcare operations or a related service-focused environment
• Radiology field experience preferred, with prior experience as a radiologic technologist strongly valued
