Petting Zoo Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Petting Zoo Assistant to join our team at Layla's Bunnyville and support the daily operations of our interactive petting zoo. This role offers an engaging opportunity to work closely with adorable bunnies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and experience in animal handling and care. This position is essential for ensuring a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for visitors while maintaining high standards of animal welfare. Required Availability (15-17 hours) Saturday 1:30-7:30 pm (required) Sunday 11:30 am-6:30 pm (required) Monday (hours starting in May) Friday 2:00 pm-8:00 pm (optional until we are no longer open Fridays) Responsibilities Assist with animal care routines, including feeding, watering, and habitat cleaning Lift up to 50 lbs Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and knowledge of bunny care Monitor bunnies during events; report any signs of illness or distress to senior staff Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal enclosures and surrounding areas Multitask working with customer service to check people in at the front Quickly rotate people between bunny enclosures Check for payments and reservations Greet people upon arrival Answer any questions from guests about the bunnies or our business Requirements Prior experience in animal handling or pet care is preferred, not required Strong communication skills to educate visitors about animals effectively Passion for animal welfare and education with a commitment to safety standards Must be available on the required days (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) Pay From $20.00 per hour Benefits Employee discount Work Location In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Layla's Bunnyville
