Empower young learners and help shape future success in a dynamic social emotional behavior classroom supporting students in grades 3-5. This full-time, in-person contract position is an excellent opportunity for a Special Education Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives near the Bristol, CT area.
As a valued member of a dedicated educational team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a supportive environment focused on promoting both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. This assignment runs until October, with the potential to extend.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience working with students exhibiting social-emotional or behavioral challenges strongly preferred
- Proven ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Solid classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
- Commitment to in-person instruction for the duration of the contract
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support in a structured environment for students in grades 3-5
- Adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Conduct regular progress monitoring and data collection
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians to promote student growth
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to behavior intervention strategies
Role Highlights:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- Schedule: 8:20 AM – 3:40 PM, ideal for work-life balance
- Contract through October, with option to extend based on program needs
