The team at RTA is looking for a Training Specialist: our Fleet Fanatic, Teaching Trailblazer, and Product Pro all rolled into one. This role is responsible for deeply owning RTA’s fleet management software, becoming the go-to subject matter expert and turning that expertise into exceptional training experiences for our clients. You’ll deliver custom onsite and virtual trainings, build role-based learning paths, and maintain the knowledge base that keeps our entire training operation sharp. This position plays a key part in not only the success of our company, but ultimately in the success of our clients.

- Has fleet management experience. Preferred but not required. If you speak the language of fleet, you’ll hit the ground running.
Specifically for this job, someone who:
- Is obsessed with product mastery. You do not just learn the software. You own it. You stay ahead of updates, dig into edge cases, and become the internal authority others turn to when they need answers.
- Can walk into a room (or a Zoom) with a fleet manager who’s skeptical of new software and walk out with a convert. You’re a Software Sage who makes complex things feel approachable.
- Designs and delivers custom onsite and virtual training sessions tailored to the audience, whether that is a new client onboarding, a role-based deep dive, or a refresher for a seasoned user.
- Owns and maintains the knowledge base, including written materials, module summaries, videos, and documentation, keeping it accurate, organized, and genuinely useful.
- Builds role-based training paths that help fleet managers, parts clerks, technicians, and administrators get exactly what they need, no more and no less.
- Is comfortable on the road. This role requires 50-60% travel to client sites across the country.
- Conducts evaluations to identify where clients (and the training itself) can improve, and acts on what they find.
- Liaises with internal teams to stay current on product changes and translate those changes into clear, updated training content.
- Uses AI tools actively and curiously, not reluctantly. You are not waiting for someone to tell you how AI fits into training. You are already experimenting, building, and figuring it out.

This Role Probably Is Not for You if...
- You need to be the smartest person in the room and struggle to admit when you do not know something. Our clients will find the gaps fast and owning them is part of the job.
- You treat training as a checkbox. If you clock in, run through slides, and clock out without caring whether anyone actually learned anything, keep scrolling.
- You get comfortable. This role requires you to constantly stay ahead of the product, update your own materials, and evolve how you teach. If you hit cruise control after six months, this is not your seat.
- You are a lone wolf. You will work closely with clients, coordinate with internal teams, and report directly to the Training Supervisor. Collaboration is not optional here.
- The road sounds exhausting. 50-60% travel is a real expectation, not a footnote. If that does not excite you at least a little, this role will wear you out.
- You want to just deliver training someone else built. You will own the content, maintain the knowledge base, and shape how RTA teaches its software. If that feels like too much, this is not your role.
- You think AI is a phase. Our clients deserve the best tools available and so does our training operation. If you are waiting for AI to go away, this seat is not for you.
Key Results Areas (aka the Job Outcomes)
- Deliver a minimum of 2 onsite training sessions per month with a client satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5 or higher
- Achieve a post-training knowledge application score of 4.9 out of 5, measured by the candidate's demonstrated ability to apply what was taught
- Maintain 100% knowledge base coverage across all core software modules, with all articles reviewed and updated within 30 days of any product release
- Build and maintain role-based training curriculum for internal and external audiences that is current, accurate, and genuinely useful to the people using it
- Identify and implement at least one new AI-powered training tool or workflow per quarter that measurably improves client learning outcomes
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on RTA's software, the person the team turns to when they need to know how something works
Qualifications
OK, the boring HR part of the job posting that looks like every other posting out there, but it’s necessary:
- 2+ years of experience in software training, instructional design, or a related field
- Fleet management or automotive industry experience is preferred. If you speak fleet, you’ll thrive here
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design techniques
- Strong technical aptitude to quickly learn, deeply understand, and confidently teach complex software
- Proficiency creating e-learning content and instructional materials: module summaries, videos, and knowledge base articles
- Proficiency with virtual training tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and LMS platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong facilitation ability across diverse audiences, from technicians to executives
- Ability to travel 50-60% of the time for onsite training sessions and work across multiple time zones
- Bachelor’s Degree is not required. Relevant experience and breadth of knowledge matter more

Compensation & Work Location
Total compensation for the role is between $85k-$105k DOE .
This is a full-time role with hybrid flexibility for candidates located in the greater Phoenix metro area and remote flexibility for candidates outside Arizona. Employees in the Phoenix area are expected to work in-office three days per week after onboarding.
This role includes approximately 50–60% travel based on client and business needs.
This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
