Assembly Production Associate

This role focuses on assembling quick release couplings, operating assembly equipment, and packaging completed products for shipment in a clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You ensure products function correctly, meet quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high productivity and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble quick release couplings according to standard work and written work instructions.
• Operate all required assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
• Package completed assemblies accurately and securely for shipment.
• Verify the function and performance of each product through visual inspection and functional checks.
• Ensure quality standards are met at every stage of the assembly and packaging process.
• Follow established standard work procedures and work instructions consistently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
• Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a minimum 90% daily attainment level and meet productivity targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and help implement solutions using A3 and 3-legged 5 Why problem-solving tools.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while also working independently when required.
• Use hand tools and assembly equipment correctly to perform mechanical assembly tasks.
• Support bench-type assembly operations as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate assembly and production machinery safely and effectively.
• Proficiency in packaging and preparing products for shipment.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
• Capability to work in general labor and machine operation roles as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, including visual inspection of parts and assemblies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good manual dexterity for handling small components and precise assembly work.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment while maintaining quality and safety.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated mindset with a positive, can-do attitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes and production workflows.
• Comfort using a variety of hand tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with machine operating and packaging in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Understanding of 5S principles for workplace organization and cleanliness.
• Interest in continuous improvement and problem-solving using tools such as A3 and 3-legged 5 Why.
• Reliability in meeting daily attainment and productivity goals.

Work Environment

The role is based in a well-lit, clean, and highly organized manufacturing facility with a climate-controlled environment. Work is primarily bench-type assembly, using hand tools and assembly equipment. The operation runs on two shifts: first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The facility continues to invest heavily in new equipment, including automation and new CNC machines, providing a modern, efficient, and comfortable workplace focused on safety, quality, and productivity.

This is a Contract position based out of Chetek, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
