The Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is in search of a Behavioral Health Professional to discover needs and resources for juveniles in an inpatient setting. Qualified Level I candidates may be hired into this full-time position and receive full salary and eligible state benefits while completing board-approved supervision and progressing toward independent licensure.
$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE
$6,000 CONTINUOUS SERVICE BONUS AVAILABLE

Basic Purpose
This Behavioral Health Professional position provides clinical services to youth receiving secure care treatment at the Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center (COJC) in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Services include behavioral health assessment, psychotherapy, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support the physical, emotional, and behavioral health needs of youth in care.
Key Responsibilities
Manages an assigned clinical caseload of youth, serving as the primary individual and family therapist, and leading the development, implementation, and ongoing review of individualized treatment plans.
Provides individual, group, and family therapy services using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. Common modalities utilized at COJC include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Problematic Sexual Behavior–Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adolescents (PSB-CBT-A), as well as other clinically appropriate interventions.
Provides crisis intervention services to youth in accordance with COJC policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Develops, facilitates, and evaluates treatment plans in collaboration with youth, caregivers, and members of the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure individualized, goal-oriented care.
Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, clinical staffing, supervision, and consultation to support high-quality clinical care and address the therapeutic needs of youth and their families.
Participates in on-call behavioral health provider rotations to ensure continuity of care and timely clinical response.
Maintains accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation in compliance with agency standards, licensing requirements, and best practices.
Adheres to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including consumer rights, confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA), professional ethics, and accreditation requirements relevant to the position.
Monitors youth progress toward treatment goals and adjust interventions based on clinical need and measurable outcomes.
Maintains professional licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements in accordance with state and professional standards.
Contributes to a trauma-informed, hope-centered, and culturally responsive treatment environment consistent with facility’s mission and values.
Other Duties:
Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to demanding and changing timelines.
Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, integrity and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while building strong relationships with all levels of staff and effectively collaborating, communicating, respecting, and assisting peers.
Schedule & Compensation
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Annual Salary:
Level I - $66,000
Level II - $71,00
Level III - $76,000
Minimum Qualifications
Level I - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field and be actively and regularly receiving board approved supervision, and extended supervision by a fully licensed clinician if the board's supervision requirement is met, but the individual is not yet licensed, to become licensed by one of the following licensure boards: Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure (Professional Counselor; Marriage and Family Therapist, and Behavioral Practitioner), Oklahoma Licensed Behavior Analyst Board, or the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (Alcohol and Drug Counselor).
Level II – Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field and must be a practitioner with a license to practice, issued by one of the following Oklahoma state licensure boards: Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (clinical specialty only), Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure, Oklahoma Licensed Behavior Analyst Board, or the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (examples of accepted licensure include: Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Licensed Behavioral Practitioner (LBP), Oklahoma Licensed Behavior Analyst Board, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Mental Health (LADC/MH)) or the completion a master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field and be actively and regularly receiving board approved supervision, and extended supervision by a fully licensed clinician if the board's supervision requirement is met, but the individual is not yet licensed, to become licensed by one of the following licensure boards: Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health Licensure (Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Behavioral Practitioner), Oklahoma Licensed Behavior Analyst Board, Oklahoma Licensed Behavior Analyst Board, or Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (Alcohol and Drug Counselor) plus one (1) year of experience in providing professional behavioral services to consumers in a state approved facility or similar entity.

Special Requirements
- Applicants may be required to travel as part of their job responsibilities and possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license for operating state-owned vehicles.
- Must be licensed to practice or be receiving board approved supervision by an approved Oklahoma state licensure board.
- Must be able to pass OSBI and FBI background check.
- A trial period of 12 months will be required.
- Some positions in this job family are safety sensitive as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8.
