JOB SUMMARY :

The Dining Room Manager is responsible for the meal service delivery and dining rooms. They prepare the dining rooms and special event locations for nursing home residents and staff, coordinates the delivery of resident meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary needs of residents. Cleans food service areas and dining rooms, utensils, and equipment, and serves food as necessary.


Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm or 9:00am-5:30pm, will work two weekends on and two weekends off alternately.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Assist in training staff, updating dietary procedures for a pleasant dining experience.
• Ensure proper meal preparation, temperature, timely service, and presentation.
• Assist staff in greeting and assisting residents during meals.
• Monitor staff's service standards, provide feedback, and conduct training.
• Ensure servers' punctuality and proper uniform.
• Engage with residents in a compassionate manner.
• Provide superior customer service in the dining room as needed.
• Prevents spread of infection through proper safety management.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and confidentiality of client information.
• Encourage and support team members for compassionate performance.
• Supervise team performance for positive experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED; and
• One or more years of progressively responsible related experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Food Sanitation Certificate.

SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE :

Skill in:

• Dining room management / leadership
• Preparing and cooking meals in an institutional or nursing home setting.
• Using commercial food service equipment, utensils, and appliances.
• Performing basic mathematical computations.
• Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Knowledge of:

• Basic nutrition.
• Standard food preparation practices and procedures.
• Rules and regulations pertaining to food service safety and sanitation.
• Basic weights and measures.
• Food preparation principles, methods, and techniques.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
