Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Mids/Eves Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department experience License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI or MOAB, NIHSS Must-Have: Traveler must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival. Critical thinking, IV starts, medication administration, dosage calculation, and basic nursing skills are required. Self-motivation and gtt management skills are necessary. Must be comfortable holding admitted patients in the Emergency Department and managing hall bed assignments. Description: This role involves caring for diverse patient populations, including newborns to geriatric patients. The Emergency Department treats a variety of conditions, including respiratory distress, gastrointestinal bleeds, and cardiac issues. You will manage minor traumas and provide care for patients with psychiatric and mental health conditions. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:3-4. Support on the unit includes charge nurses who assign patients based on staffing. Phlebotomy services and IV/VAT team support are available. Clientists are accessible 24/7, as well as RT services. Charting is conducted using an electronic medical record system. Nurses will work on an 8-week scheduling rotation, typically 4 days one week and 3 days the next. Weekend rotation will occur every other weekend. Holidays require working 2 out of 3 designated holidays. Scrub color: Pewter. Traveler-friendly culture emphasizing family and teamwork.
