Position Summary The Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the integrity of all stock within the warehouse. This role focuses on inventory tracking, discrepancy resolution, and process improvement to support efficient warehouse operations and minimize errors. Key Responsibilities Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including root cause analysis Reconcile inventory variances and update system records accordingly Audit inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy Track damaged, defective, or returned goods and process adjustments Maintain proper product labeling, slotting, and organization within the warehouse Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and issues Collaborate with receiving, picking, and shipping teams to improve accuracy and efficiency Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards Assist with process improvements and inventory control best practices Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred 1–3 years of warehouse or inventory control experience preferred Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Basic to intermediate computer skills (e.g., spreadsheets, data entry) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Flexible shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed Forklift and high reach certification Physical Requirements Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on warehouse conditions Key Competencies Attention to Detail: Consistently ensures accuracy in counts, data entry, and reporting Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify patterns, investigate discrepancies, and determine root causes Problem-Solving: Quickly resolves inventory issues with practical, effective solutions Accountability: Takes ownership of inventory accuracy and follows through on discrepancies Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using WMS, inventory systems, and basic data tools (e.g., spreadsheets) Organization & Time Management: Prioritizes tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Communication: Clearly communicates issues, findings, and updates with team members and leadership Collaboration: Works cross-functionally with warehouse teams to maintain inventory integrity Adaptability: Adjusts to changing priorities, processes, and operational needs Safety Awareness: Demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety This position operates in a warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment and varying noise levels.
