About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience License: RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EPIC experience required, Trauma level 2 or higher preferred Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients through the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, and technology. The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for the healthcare team. The RN completes an initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. The RN communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. The RN identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions. The RN fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. The RN implements procedures and theories specific to emergency department nursing. The RN performs patient assessment and develops a care plan in collaboration with providers, family, and patient. The RN executes the plan of care and nursing interventions. The RN modifies the care plan based on continuous assessment. The RN is responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions, adhering to safety standards, and correcting/reporting safety hazards. The RN effectively communicates and collaborates with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing work environment. The RN provides feedback to peers to aid in professional development, increase knowledge base, and problem-solve. The RN maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. The schedule requires 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, with call shifts being 13 hours in duration. There is a 2-week nights rotation required for all travelers. There is no block scheduling.
