Privacy Paralegal: Contracts & US/GDPR

Responsibilities and Requirements: Demonstrated skill and experience closely reviewing contracts for issues, with the judgement to determine which points are critical and should be escalated Knowledge of privacy laws in the United States, with a focus on their requirements for contracting with third parties Training in contract law and experience with negotiating, including drafting, meeting, and synthesizing inputs from multiple stakeholders to reach business judgments in accordance with the law Sound critical thinking and analytical skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships across the organization while working on cross functional teams Ability to solve problems, communicate to different business partners, and deliver results Ability to work independently without a close supervision Patience, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage unexpected or changing deadlines Experience and other Qualifications: 4+ years of commercial contract negotiation / legal experience in a large corporate setting Familiarity with the privacy laws of the United States, both state and federal and/or the European GDPR Preferred Qualifications Work experience with an in-house legal team IAPP or other qualification Experience with project management Experience with incident and data breach response including managing engagement with regulators Experience handling privacy regulatory compliance which may include personal privacy rights, response to regulatory inquiries, and knowledge of criminal or civil investigations Willingness to travel 10-15% of the year as necessary Familiarity with European data privacy regulations and other areas of the world An interest in emerging technology and data science Benefits: Employees (and their eligible family members) may enroll in the following types of insurance coverage: medical, dental, vision, legal, and accidental death and dismemberment, as well as FSA/HSA (depending on enrolled medical plan).
