Child Psychiatrist (Part?Time) Therapeutic Pre?School Program
Location: Emma L. Bowen Center New York, NY
Schedule: 24 hours per week | W2 Nonunion Consultant ; $180-200/hr. negotiable; (yearly 220K) hybrid 1-2 days a week telehealth
Make an Early Impact Where It Matters Most The Emma L. Bowen Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Child Psychiatrist to join its Therapeutic Pre?School (TPS) program, an Office of Mental Healthlicensed day treatment program serving children ages 35 with developmental, emotional, and mental health needs. This is a unique opportunity to support early childhood mental health within a collaborative, multidisciplinary school?based setting, while maintaining a flexible, part?time schedule.
About the Role As the Child Psychiatrist, you will play a vital clinical leadership role by providing:
- Psychiatric evaluations and ongoing clinical oversight
- Consultation within the classroom and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Support for treatment planning and regulatory documentation
- Psychoeducation for families, caregivers, and teaching staff
- Crisis intervention and safety planning, as needed
You'll work closely with educators, social workers, and leadership to ensure integrated, trauma?informed, and culturally responsive care for young children and their families.
Qualifications
- MD with specialization in Child Psychiatry, must be credentialed before starting
- Active New York State medical license
- Board certification preferred
- Experience working with young children, including developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder
- Comfort providing consultation in classroom and school?based environments
- Strong documentation and collaboration skills
