Pediatric Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider

Position Summary Advanced Practice Providers (FNP or PNP) will deliver evidence‑based care to pediatric patients in an urgent care setting, supporting both in‑person and telemedicine services. The role is available for part‑time (12–36hours/week) or full‑time, with no overnight shifts and flexible scheduling. Job Responsibilities Assess and treat acute injuries and illnesses, including febrile infants/children, ENT infections, abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma, for both in‑person and telemedicine patients. Perform common urgent care procedures such as abscess drainage, foreign‑body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, or dermal adhesive. Obtain and initially interpret radiographs with radiologist over‑reads where applicable. Oversee daily operations and patient flow for both in‑person and telemedicine visits, managing other providers, staff, and trainees on shift. Ensure efficient operations by adhering to established policies and procedures and proactively reporting necessary changes to management. Collaborate with on‑site and telemedicine teams to complete daily tasks, including lab and radiology result review, patient follow‑up, and timely responses to patient inquiries. Promote a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by enforcing safety protocols, upholding quality standards, and ensuring legal compliance. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Continuously update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and participation in professional organizations. Contribute to service recovery efforts and assist staff and patients with complaints. Focus on efficiency metrics to improve in‑person and telemedicine urgent care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience. Qualifications Pediatric experience required; Pediatric ER, General Pediatrics, or Urgent Care experience preferred. Active ANCC Board Certification or NCCPA Certification. Active RN (if applicable) and NP/PA state license for each state where treating patients. Master of Science in Nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing, or Master of Physician Assistant Studies required. Minimum 2years of independent pediatric clinical experience as an APP (outside of rotations) or at least 1year in urgent care or emergency medicine. Ability to think critically, multitask, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW preferred).
